Event Information

Attend Joining in Justice 2026!

Thursday, March 26, 6:00pm-8:00pm

Helen Mills Event Space, 137 West 26th Street, NYC

You're invited to celebrate over 30 years of free legal services for NYC young people at our annual Joining in Justice event, benefiting The Door's Legal Services Center (LSC). An evening that highlights the work of the LSC, Joining in Justice brings those who support us together to hear from clients, learn a bit more, connect with friends and allies, and celebrate the outcomes possible when we collaborate in service of equitable justice for all young people. We will be honoring Emery Celli Brinckerhoff Abady Ward & Maazel LLP for their generous support of our work. We will also be recognizing ROCC NYC for their partnership in this vital work.

Your support directly funds our Legal Services Center's lifesaving services at a time when they are more critical than ever. In the last year alone, this dedicated team of lawyers, social workers, paralegals, administrators, and pro bono partners helped 3,000 young people to protect and ensure their stability and safety. Click "Register" to sponsor and purchase tickets or "Donate" to make a gift.

About Our Legal Services Center

About The Door's Legal Services Center

For vulnerable youth in New York City, access to a free attorney can be the key to safety and survival. At The Door, the Legal Services Center (LSC) includes a remarkable team of lawyers, social workers, paralegals, administrators, and pro bono partners. Together, these dedicated professionals provide life-changing legal and supportive services that ensure young people have the resources they need to overcome barriers that impact their well-being and long-term success.

Established in 1992 to provide youth with legal representation and guidance in all civil legal matters, the Center is fully integrated within The Door and is therefore unique in that it remains one of the few, if not the only, providers of civil legal services for youth within a holistic youth development agency.

About The Door

For teens and young adults navigating life, there’s one door in New York City that is always open. For over 50 years, The Door has been a trusted place for young people between 12 and 24. All are welcome as they are, to be themselves, address challenges, and access services when and how they need them. With our roots in the heart of New York City and a presence across the boroughs, The Door offers comprehensive programs and services, including mental health counseling, health and nutrition assistance, legal services, housing support, arts, education, and career guidance. At The Door, everything is free, and everyone is welcome.

The Door’s on-site charter high school, Broome Street Academy, serves 300 students per year from across all five boroughs, with reserved seats for students who are transitionally housed or in foster care.
