CITE connects young people with educational and job opportunities geared toward financial self-sufficiency and upward mobility.
All young people enrolled in EPOCH ultimately enter CITE (College, Internship, Training, and Employment) to receive educational and employment placements. Young people may enter CITE at their point of entry into the program, or from Infused GED classes or Straight-to-Work when deemed ready for placement.
In CITE, Career Advancement Coaches work one-on-one with participants to identify appropriate job and educational placements. Placement opportunities include a range of entry-level and advanced career and post-secondary placement options with employers, internship sites, and vocational training programs in high growth sectors. Post-secondary opportunities are enhanced by The Door’s on-site Talent Search program, which provides comprehensive college advisement and academic support services.
Once young people are placed, Career Advancement Coaches provide consistent support to help them maintain and progress in their placements. Coaches help young people address issues in the workplace or home life as they arise, and keep young people engaged with The Door through alumni workshops and events.
