Health and Dental Services
Confidential health care services in a youth friendly environment
The Adolescent Health Center (AHC) at The Door offers comprehensive health and dental services to all Door members, regardless of ability to pay.
Health Services
Our caring and knowledgeable staff provide a wide range of services exclusively to adolescent patients. Our services include:
- Physical examinations for work, sports or school
- General health care
- Health education
- Dermatology, including treatment for acne and hair loss
- Nutritional counseling
The AHC also offers a comprehensive list of services to meet your sexual health and birth control needs, including:
- Gynecological services
- Check-ups for males
- Birth control methods and counseling
- Pregnancy testing
- Options counseling (information about and referrals for prenatal care, adoption or terminations)
- Emergency Contraception ( Plan B or “the morning after pill”)
- HIV counseling and testing (including Rapid Testing)
- Sexually Transmitted Disease (STD) screening and treatment
- HPV vaccinations for young people aged 19 and over
Dental Services
The AHC has a pediatric dentist and a licensed dental hygienist on staff to provide routine dental care, including:
- General exams
- Fillings
- Oral Hygiene Instruction
- Dental education
- Fluoride treatments
- Sealants
- Smoking Cessation
Medication Supply Room
The AHC’s onsite medication supply room is stocked with a wide range of commonly needed medications, including contraceptives (condoms, birth control pills, Depo Provera), which may be provided to patients during medical visits.
Eligibility and Insurance
- All health care services are confidential.
- You do not need permission from your parent or guardian to access reproductive services at The Door.
- An Entitlements Counselor is available to assist young people with Medicaid and other entitlements programs in a completely confidential setting.
- Medical and dental services will be provided regardless of ability to pay.

- Walk-in appointments are available for pregnancy testing, HIV testing and emergency contraception (EC).
