EPOCH is The Door’s education and career training program designed to meet you where you are and help with your specific needs. The name "EPOCH" represents the beginning of a new period, marked by radical changes and new developments. Join EPOCH and start taking steps towards your future today!
Two paths, one bright future
With EPOCH, you can follow one of two paths to help you earn an education, get a job, and develop life and work-readiness skills for independent living. No matter which path is right for you, you are guaranteed to get individualized support, coaching and opportunities to help meet your education and career goals, as well as assistance with transportation and other personal needs. You will also get help creating the tools you need to get a job, including a resume, personal statement, applications, cover letters and references. The two paths are:
- Infused GED: Class Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. where you learn the skills you need to pass the GED test. You will also choose some of your own “Foundations” classes where you can build skills for life and leadership while exploring your career and personal interests. Infused GED students can apply for in-house, paid internships, and receive other stipends and incentives.
- CITE (College, Internships, Training and Employment): The next step after Infused GED students, those who have a GED already or immediate need for a job. Coaches will help you get a job or internship, or enroll in college or a vocational program. They will also help you develop an action plan for lasting success, and provide continuous support for one year after you start your first job or enroll in college.
