Build your portfolio while finishing your education

As part of The Door’s partnership with the NYC Department of Education, we provide a unique GED program for students who wish to pursue a future in the arts. If you have a serious interest in the arts, and you need to get your GED, then Arts Access might be right for you.  While building the academic readiness to help prepare for the State GED exam, you will also be able to develop a portfolio to use for applying to post-secondary schools.  Classes take place Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. 

As part of the EPOCH Infused GED program, Arts Access students take Foundations classes in the afternoon where they can pursue other interests, including studio art.  In addition, all academic classes are infused with art.

Arts Access graduates have been accepted to many prestigious colleges and art schools, including Cooper Union and the Fashion Institute of Technology.
