Legal Services Center Attorney Michael Williams Named Recipient of a Legal Services Award
The Association of the Bar of the City of New York has named four legal services attorneys and one non-attorney as recipients of the Eighteenth Annual Legal Services Awards, which give recognition to attorneys and non-attorneys who provide outstanding civil legal assistance to New York's poor. The Awards will be presented on Wednesday, June 6th, at 4 p.m. at the Association, to which the legal services community is invited.
This year's recipients are:
EMILY RUBEN, Attorney-in-charge, Brooklyn Neighborhood Office, The Legal Aid Society
ELIZABETH SCHOLLENBERGER, Managing Attorney, Queens Legal Services
NANETTE SCHORR, Family and Education Law Units Director, Legal Services for New York City, Bronx
MICHAEL WILLIAMS, Senior Staff Attorney, The Door's Legal Services Center
ROBERT KALIN, Senior Tenant Organizer, Housing Conservation Coordinators
This year's Awards will be presented by Hon. Robert Katzman, Judge, United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.
The awards are administered by the Special Committee on the Legal Services Awards, chaired by James H. R. Windels, and sponsored by the Committee on Pro Bono and Legal Services, chaired by Madeleine Schachter. The awards have been endowed by a generous contribution from the Horace W. Goldsmith Foundation.
