Get ready for college this summer!

The Door can help you make the most of your summer by helping you get ready for college!

Two of our summer college prep programs are currently accepting applications:

Summer Senior Success Camp

What: Workshops to build college knowledge and develop a personal college application success plan for your senior year. You can also get SAT preparation and community service projects to complete your graduation requirements

Who: Students who will be entering their senior year of high school in 2017-2018 who need support applying to college

When: July 10 through August 10, 3 days a week for 90 minutes a day, offered Monday through Thursday from 10:30 a.m.-12 p.m. OR 12:30 p.m.-2 p.m. (ideal for students with an afternoon or evening summer job)

How to apply: Download the application form now and bring it to Maria Monica Andia in room 215 OR email it to her at mandia@door.org. The DEADLINE to apply is May 31, 2017

 

LEAP Bridge to College

What: A prep program for young people headed to college and want to get ready for college-level writing and math, plus building skills with time and stress management, how to select your courses, financial management, and more

Who: 16-24 year olds planning to start college in fall 2017 who are homeless and/or connected to the juvenile justice system and/or have been involved in the foster care system

When: July 10 through August 10 - offered Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. at our SoHo location (555 Broome Street) and 2 p.m.-5 p.m. at our Bronx Youth Center Location (424 147th Street)

How to apply: Contact Rakeesha Glover at raglover@door.org or at (212) 941-9090, ext. 3322 for the SoHo location program, or attend a walk-in information session on Wednesdays at 4 p.m. and Fridays at 1 p.m. in May and June. To apply for the program at our Bronx location, contact Joyce Paton at jpaton@door.org or at (212) 941-9090, ext. 3531.
