Overview:
The Door is a multi-service youth development agency serving the needs of young people between the ages of 12 to 21. The Door's mission is to empower young people to reach their potential by providing comprehensive youth development services in a diverse and caring environment. The Member Services Department welcomes and orients new members and is responsible for providing a brief interview and risk assessment to all new members. The department helps to connect new and existing members to services by providing both initial and ongoing referrals and direct linkages to The Door’s Health, Counseling, Legal, Education, and Career Departments based on young persons’ needs and interests.
Responsibilities:
- Operate Photo ID system to make ID cards
- Provide information about Door services to new members, as needed
- Light filing, as needed
- Demonstrate an understanding of and practice the principles of positive youth development
- Participate in relevant meetings, trainings, workshops and events
- Other tasks as assigned by supervisor
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED required
- Sensitivity to the needs and interests of the diverse young people who comprise The Door’s membership population
- Demonstrates an ability to connect with young people
- Excellent oral communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent computer and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and on a team
- Self-starter and ability to take initiative
- Bi-lingual Chinese or Spanish preferred
Hours:
10 -13 hours per week, late afternoon and evening
Salary:
$13.24/hour
