Supervisor of Foster Care Programming

Overview:
The Door's mission is to empower young people to reach their potential by providing comprehensive youth development services in a diverse and caring environment. The Supervisor of Foster Care Programming will oversee The Door’s targeted foster care initiatives geared toward transitioning youth into independence by developing life skills, educational competence and employment readiness. In this capacity, he/she will manage contractual requirements and foster care agency relationships, monitor service delivery, and ensure that young people in the programs receive appropriate services based on their individual needs.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and integrate all Door activities focusing on foster care youth; act as a liaison across departments providing targeted services and programs for the population
- Supervise specific programs, as assigned, and ensure appropriate coordination of program services and activities
- Oversee related staff and provide support and supervision
- Ensure and monitor program quality and attainment of performance measures in compliance with funding sources and Door requirements
- Monitor, collect, and prepare data for program evaluation and reporting
- Maintain contractual partnerships with state, city, foster care agencies and funders, and proactively work to strengthen these partnerships on an on-going basis
- Monitor and track service delivery to foster care program participants, including recruitment, participation, and retention
- Ensure young people are obtaining necessary and appropriate services, both at The Door and externally
- Develop and oversee programming to ensure the life skill development, education and career-readiness of young people in order to facilitate their transition into independence
- Act as part of a program management team in order to ensure the coordination of services to young people requiring comprehensive services in order to meet their life skill, educational and employment needs
- Collaborate with Door staff on service delivery and integration
- Demonstrate an understanding and practice the principles of positive youth development
- Participate as a member of an interdisciplinary staff in cross-departmental efforts to increase services to specific youth populations and provide appropriate support for young people
- Handle any appropriate responsibilities and functions as assigned by the supervisor
Qualifications:
- MA in Social Work, Vocational Counseling, Education, or related field or Bachelor’s degree and 3 years’ experience in a related field
- Minimum of 3 years experience in supervisory capacity
- Three or more years experience in youth development, employment or career programs
- Experience in program management and contract administration required
- Experience working with youth in care a plus
- Excellent oral, written, and communication skills
- Ability to demonstrate exceptional organization skills and attention to detail
- Proficient in use of the Microsoft Office Suite
Salary:
Commensurate with experience

35 hours a week
