The Door’s mission is to empower young people ages 12-21 to reach their potential by providing accessible, comprehensive youth development services – health care, counseling, education, legal services, the arts and recreation – in a diverse and supportive environment.
Responsibilities:
- Provide consultation and education to mental health staff.
- Provide psychiatric evaluations to young people as requested.
- Provide medication as appropriate to young people.
- Ensure necessary medical labs and follow up.
- Meet regularly with the Counseling Services Director for planning and supervision.
- Report to the Counseling Director significant psychiatric, ethical, and organizational issues related to The Door.
- Support and work with the multidisciplinary, holistic approach of The Door.
- Responsible for implementing decisions and policies as made by the Medical Board, Board of Directors, and the Executive Director of The Door.
Qualifications:
- Medical degree from an accredited medical school.
- Current license to practice medicine in the State of New York.
- Adequate training in psychiatry, with a minimum of 2 years of psychiatric residence.
- Interest and experience in working with an adolescent population.
- Willingness to work as an integrated member of an interdisciplinary team.
Salary:
$94.74 per hour
