From the time we opened our doors in 1972, The Door's programs have been evolving and growing to meet the ever-changing needs of New York City's young people. Gifts from individual donors and foundations allow us to continue our long and vital tradition of innovative new programs which go on to become models for other agencies and influence public policy debates at the local and national levels. Contributions to The Door are tax-deductible, and can be designated for general support or for specific projects or activities.

Don't know how much to give?

  • Every $100 helps 3 Door Members dress for success with professional clothing for job interviews. DONATE >>
  • Every $250 provides daily essentials, including clothing, food and hygiene kits, as well as counseling and shelter referral services to 8 homeless youth. DONATE >>
  • Every $500 supplies 42 Door Members with HIV Rapid Testing Kits to minimize the risk of unknowingly passing on the virus, and provides counseling and sex education to keep youth safe and informed. DONATE >>
  • Every $1,000 supports 13 hours of specialized legal counsel, advice and representation for abused, neglected or abandoned youth who are undocumented, in foster care, or both. DONATE >>
  • Every $2,500 funds 6 months of music lessions, led by a professional teaching artist for young people to gain confidence and skills through an outlet for creative expression. DONATE >>
